1. Who we are and what this policy covers
VESPER is developed by Mike Gazzaruso, NextEpochs (“we”, “us” or “our”). This policy explains how the VESPER iOS app and its AUv3 extension handle information. It also explains what happens if you contact us about the app or visit this policy page.
VESPER does not collect or transmit personal data to NextEpochs during normal app use. It has no account system, advertising, third-party analytics or tracking. The NextEpochs online store, Apple services and separate audio host apps have their own data practices; they are not part of the VESPER audio engine.
2. Audio and microphone permission
All effect processing takes place on your device. VESPER does not send microphone input, instrument audio, loop recordings or processed audio to us or to a cloud service.
The standalone app requests microphone permission to process live audio from the microphone or connected audio hardware. You can change that permission in your device’s Settings. If access is disabled, live input may be unavailable; the internal AUDITION phrase can still be used to explore the effects.
When used as an AUv3 extension, VESPER processes audio supplied by the host app. The host controls its own recording, microphone access, project storage and any sharing or cloud features.
3. Presets, settings and loop recordings
VESPER saves settings and presets in local app or extension storage. It does not upload them to a NextEpochs account or server. A host app may save VESPER’s plugin state inside a project.
Audio captured by the built-in looper is held for the current session. Loop recordings are not included in presets or plugin state.
Import and export operate on files you choose. If you select iCloud Drive or another storage provider, that provider may transfer or store the selected file under its own policy. Device backups and host-app backups may also include locally stored settings or presets, depending on your configuration.
You can remove saved data through the relevant app or file-management controls. Removing VESPER removes its local app data according to iOS behaviour, but does not automatically remove exported files, host projects or copies in backups.
4. Purchases and platform services
Apple handles App Store purchases and payment details. VESPER does not ask you to enter card details or create a NextEpochs account. Apple may process purchase, diagnostic or usage information according to your settings and its own privacy policy.
Any compatible AUv3 host or third-party file provider you use is governed by its own privacy policy. VESPER does not control those services.
5. When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any files or diagnostics you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request and investigate the issue you report. Please avoid sending private audio or other sensitive information unless it is needed for the request.
For this correspondence, Mike Gazzaruso, NextEpochs is responsible for the personal information you provide. We process it to provide requested support, pursue our legitimate interest in resolving product issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. Our email and hosting providers may process it as necessary to deliver those services. We retain correspondence only for as long as needed for those purposes and any applicable legal requirements.
6. Visiting this page
This privacy page does not load advertising, analytics, external fonts or tracking scripts, and does not set cookies. The web server receives ordinary request information, such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time, to deliver and secure the page. This website traffic is separate from use of the VESPER app.
For information about the wider NextEpochs website and services, see the NextEpochs website privacy policy.
7. Your choices and rights
You control microphone permissions, local files, exports and the host apps you use. Because VESPER does not send us your audio or locally stored presets, we cannot access or remotely delete those files.
Where applicable data protection law provides these rights, you may request access, correction, deletion or portability of personal information you have supplied to us, and object to or request restriction of its processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact us using the address below to make a request.
8. Children’s privacy
VESPER has no account, advertising or tracking features and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through a support request, contact us so we can review and address it.
9. Changes to this policy
If VESPER’s data practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. Any new permissions will be requested through the relevant platform controls where required.
